Aiming for more efficiency and better perfor mance the company knew migrating to the public cloud would facilitate teamwork and power IT performance across its stretched network of offices and departments . But first, it needed to ensure due diligence for national regulatory compliance. To do so, it turned to Microsoft 365 E5 and Azure security services, and in the process, not only enhanced data protection, but also improved internal collaboration .
ProService Finteco provides IT solutions and complex services to investment funds and the insurance and banking sectors in Poland and abroad. In January 2020, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority released a detailed update to regulation concerning how financial service entities can use the public cloud. ProService Finteco then approached Integrity Partners — a n expert in cloud and cybersecurity that’s part of the Microsoft Partner Network — to start preparations for cloud migration in compliance with the latest national regulations and the ISO/IEC 27005 risk management standard.
“Together, we decided which Microsoft 365 E5 security solutions and Azure risk-mitigating tools would best suit our business workflows,” says Adam J . Kępa , Group CTO at ProService Finteco . “Our company is now a trailblazer among financial institutions in Poland as one of the first to implement Microsoft 365 cloud solutions.”
Keeping corporate data safe
As many of its employees shift ed to remote work, access to new cloud-based tools that boosted productivity while facilitating the secure sharing of data became especially crucial. “We use Microsoft Teams as our main communication tool, connecting with colleagues and our customers via online chats rather than having to catch them by email or phone,” says Emilia Zakrzewska, Marketing Director at ProService Finteco.
Internal data containing confidential information or integrating multimedia can be shared safely during client calls thanks to the range of advanced security services provided in Microsoft 365 E5 and in Azure. “With Azure Key Vault and Azure Advanced Threat Protection, we can safeguard client and employee data more efficiently. And Azure Sentinel has been especially instrumental for us, helping us to manage the detection of security information and events such as potential security threats, regardless of scale,” Kępa stresses . “Trust is the cornerstone of our business . We are much more confident now than we were using our on-premises data storage system,” he confirms.
Already five of ProService Finteco’s clients are following suit, using the same Azure-based applications. Meanwhile, its IT help desk has more time to support employees, thanks to security capabilities like Azure Multi-Factor Authentication . The company also improved its security posture by centralizing identity and access management within Azure Active Directory . “Call queues in Microsoft Teams have also resulted in a fully measurable incident management process that improves efficiency. We’re saving 40 percent on our planned IT budget , in this area, next year since we moved to Microsoft 365 and implemented Azure Sentinel,” K ę pa enthuses. “Simply put, as our company looks to expand into new markets, strong IT performance, data security and cloud collaboration are our future.”
